KRAKEN
Kraken is a network orientated passive sonar analysis system which is capable of processing data in real-time at any sample rate from any sensor, receiving input data via network streams. It runs on a standard PC and requires Ethernet and audio resources.
Kraken can process data from static files (such as WAV files) or can be automatically connected to data provided over a network link, providing real time operation which is dynamically re-configurable. It provides all of the traditional passive analysis functionality such as Lofargrams, Demons and Verniers, all of which are fully controllable by the operator as well as allowing for insertion of third part algorithms directly into the system. The operator can change, add or remove the processing at any time as well as connecting to new data streams as they wish. In addition it can be configured to record all input streams continuously to disk.
Kraken forms one building block in the future of distributed, network centric sonar processing.
