15 Aug 2006 - Sonar 2087 RR&A

Kaon is pleased to announce they have been awarded two, openly competed, contracts from the MoD S2087 IPT. The first is associated with the shore based post patrol analysis requirements; the other is looking at the way forward for on board recording and replay. Together these contracts will assist the MoD in the future development of the S2087 facilities both ashore and at sea.

Both contracts build on Kaon’s expertise and experience in surface ship LFA sonar systems. Kaon have been supporting LFA sonars for over a decade, providing record, replay and analysis systems and support to a number of customers.

S2087 is the most advanced sonar deployed to date by the Royal Navy. It is currently fitted to some Type 23 Duke class frigates and will provide the capability to hunt the latest classes of submarines at great distances.
