Kaon awarded contract to provide S2054(IR) Record & Replay solution

Kaon is proud to have been selected to provide the recording and replay solution for the Lockheed Martin Sonar 2054 inboard replacement programme. This recording solution will build on Kaon’s heritage of COTS based sonar recording systems.

Kieren Feakes, Kaon’s Managing Director commented “The award of this contract is a significant milestone in the company’s history; and recognition of the depth of expertise we have in the development and delivery of innovative, reliable, open architecture sonar systems”.

The Lockheed Martin led consortium, won the seven-year contract to provide upgrades to the sonar systems aboard the Royal Navy Vanguard Class submarines in September 2006. The update will provide the Royal Navy submarine force with an open architecture system that will negate current obsolescence issues. The move to an open architecture will also make it easier for the Royal Navy to continuously refresh the Sonar 2054 suites as new technologies become available.
